During Tanzania’s dry season, both the river and the swamps become vital watering holes, attracting a plethora of wild animals. Supported by a year-round water supply and abundant fodder, the crater sustains a vast variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another major attraction of this picturesque national park is its significant population of predators, such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard. We will enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor.
After the break, you will continue the game drive before ascending the steep walls of the crater in the late afternoon to return to Arusha.
