Tour Overview

Tarangire is often overlooked among Tanzania's northern circuit parks, and this is truly unfortunate. With its abundant elephant population, iconic Baobab trees, and rich diversity of wildlife, Tarangire stands as one of the country's finest parks, offering ample opportunities for capturing breathtaking photos or simply immersing oneself in the awe-inspiring presence of the world's largest land mammals.
During the dry season, in particular, game drives through Tarangire become especially exhilarating. As water sources diminish, the park's animals converge around the Tarangire River, creating a remarkable spectacle. This concentration of wildlife not only provides an excellent opportunity to observe numerous species in one location but also offers a firsthand glimpse into the intricate dynamics of the predator-prey relationship.

    TOUR ITINERARY

After enjoying breakfast in Arusha, you'll embark on a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park.
En route, you'll witness the landscape transforming as Arusha's urban sprawl gives way to vast open plains and charming Masai villages. Upon arrival at the park entrance, keep an eye out for mischievous monkeys frolicking in the shade and don't miss the chance to capture a photo with a majestic Baobab tree.
Once inside the park, the iconic Tarangire River, flanked by acacia and Baobab trees, sets the stage for wildlife sightings throughout the day. During the dry season, the park becomes a hub of activity as thousands of animals migrate from the Masai steppe in search of water, offering a remarkable opportunity to observe diverse species in a condensed area.
Tarangire National Park boasts exclusive sightings of endangered animals such as the Greater Kudu, Fringe-Eared Oryx, and the Ashy Starling.
Relish a picnic lunch at one of the park's designated picnic areas while soaking in unparalleled views of the Tarangire River. Keep a close watch over your meal, as the local monkey population may attempt to pilfer any tasty treats left unattended!
As the day draws to a close, you'll make your way back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.
